Thank You For Volunteering to Chaperone!
At the Friendship Children’s Center, we believe that field trips provide a valuable educational experience for our students. Field trips increase students’ knowledge and understanding of a subject and enhance the experiential learning component of our program. However, without the help of volunteer chaperones, field trips would not be possible!
As a chaperone, you have the unique opportunity to be integrated into your child’s learning environment and also serve as additional support to the teachers in supervising the children. Therefore, chaperones are expected to comply with school policies, follow the directions and the trip plan as given by the teacher, work cooperatively with other volunteers and school staff members, and model exemplary behaviors for all students.
Prior to the field trip, your child’s teacher will confirm your assignment and provide you with a chaperone packet containing information regarding the activities planned for the trip and expectations for supervising students. In addition, the following guidelines can help you effectively perform your duties as a chaperone. If you have any questions, please talk with your child’s teacher and/or the Director.
